Music Room
A room where the instruments stay set up
The music room is carpeted and kept clear down the middle, with the instruments standing ready around the edges rather than packed away between periods. A student who has ten minutes can sit down and play; nothing has to be fetched or assembled first.
We are having different instruments each other across the room, with an electronic keyboard on its stand between them. Along one side are the tabla, the dholak and the standing drums, so the Indian and the Western instruments are learnt in the same room and, when a programme calls for it, played together.

The school band
The school band plays an important role in developing discipline, confidence and teamwork among students. Learning to perform as part of a band teaches students to listen carefully, follow rhythm, coordinate with others and contribute towards a common goal.
Participation in the school band also helps students build concentration, responsibility and stage confidence. It provides a meaningful opportunity for students to express their musical talent while developing skills that support their overall personality and growth. Those are described under Activities.
