It began in 1906, and it has not stopped since
Three and a half centuries have passed since Fr. John Peter Medaille gathered a few young women and widows in Le Puy who wanted to answer the misery around them. Each age since has called for something new, and each has been answered.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery brought that work to Sagar. The school was established primarily for the education of Catholics, and it has always been open to every child, whatever their religion, caste or language.
Today it is a CBSE senior secondary school of ninety classrooms on a campus of thirty-five thousand square metres, with a teaching staff of a hundred and eleven.

From the Principal
I am delighted to welcome you to this vibrant institute of learning. Our endeavour at SJC Sagar is to provide the platform where our students can take up the opportunity and the challenges to do the things they are capable of, and rise to their utmost potential in academics and co-curricular activities.
SJC assures you of a nurturing and caring environment that will see all our students blossom into empowered and sensitive human beings. We aim to provide learning opportunities where they develop a robust base of knowledge, social skills and a value for humanitarian service.
May our patron St. Joseph help us to abide by the motto of SJC, Virtue Alone Ennobles, and carry on the Josephite spirit in all the activities of the school.
